Story by Seth Viehman Brayden Svec is a senior at Hanover Central High School, where he plays both football and basketball. As his final season approaches, he’s excited for what's ahead but remains focused on finishing this one strong. Though Brayden has only been at Hanover Central for two years, he has fit in seamlessly. He’s played football throughout his time here and believes that if the team continues performing as they have been, they have the potential to become the most successful squad in school history. While he knows the road ahead won’t be easy, Brayden is confident in the team’s abilities and the potential they hold. As graduation nears, Brayden has been reflecting on his future plans. He intends to join Local 399, where he can build his career. After some time in the union, Brayden hopes to pursue his passion for coaching basketball, whether at the high school or college level. Despite his relatively short time at Hanover Central, Brayden has made many great memories with his teammates. Some of his favorites are from senior and junior team meals, where they bonded and grew closer as a group. These experiences have strengthened their relationships both on and off the field. As his high school athletic career winds down, Brayden is cherishing every moment. His advice to the younger players is, "Cherish the memories with your teammates and don’t take any summer lift, team meal, practice, film session, or game for granted because it all goes by too quickly." While Brayden will miss the fun times he’s had at Hanover, he’s excited about what the future holds. He looks forward to joining the union, exploring new opportunities, and pursuing his dream of becoming a basketball coach.
