Story by Filip Milenkovic Hanover Central High School, Friday night, home game. The stands are packed, the crowd is loud, the atmosphere is something special. Kids of all ages come to watch the varsity athletes take the field. Simultaneously, another group of athletes is taking the field. At every home game, the future varsity athletes from the elementary schools have their own game under the bleachers. This is where Landen Coduti began his career. This is where he found his love for the game. Landen Coduti has been playing the game since his early years of elementary school. He started playing football alongside basketball and baseball. However, as he traversed through the journey that is adolescence, only one sport seemed to stick. Whether he is on or off the field, in the locker room, or in the classroom, Landen always seems to find his mind wandering to football. It has truly been an important part of his life. For him, it has brought friends together, it has brought family together, in some ways it has even brought his life together. This year, being Landen’s senior year, is a very special one. This season he finds himself in a very important position at outside linebacker. Being a new position to him, this summer Landen was met with the challenge of trying to master this unfamiliar position. Being the team-first kind of guy that he is, he knew he had to bring it all together for this season so that he can help the Wildcats to another conference championship. These last four years of high school have been fun for Landen. He has seen friends come and go. As irritating as it may sometimes be, he has even been fortunate enough to play alongside his brother, Jacksen. Regardless of all of these fond high school memories, Landen is more ready than ever to begin the next chapter of his life. He plans on getting accepted by Purdue Lafayette, where he wants to continue working with his love of football, but not in the way you might think. Landen plans on studying kinesiology and working with Purdue’s kinesiology program which would have him helping their football team. As he nears the end of the prison sentence that we all call high school, he is reminiscent of the days passed, but also hopeful of the future ahead. Whether he is on the field, off the field, or even playing pick-up football behind the bleachers, football will always hold an important place in Landen's heart.
