Story by Israel Sinnott Lexi Smith is a high school senior at Hanover Central High School. With many activities and ambitions in life, she has really made the best of high school. She plays soccer, wants to go to college for a double major, and has made many memories with friends and teachers. Lexi says that Mr. Cockerham is her favorite teacher. He has really made a great impact on her character and the way she views history and AP psych. He makes learning in those classes fun and exciting, along with giving her different perspectives. She is very excited to visit the prison in criminal justice, and learn how the brain works in psychology class.. She is going to college for a double major in sports management and athletic training. She would like to go into criminology; a field that Mr. Cockerham introduced her to. She also plans to pursue her soccer career at Eureka College in Illinois. Lexi is looking forward to this year's soccer season hoping to make it at least past the first round of regionals and onto state. She plays center back, but before she got to high school she played right back. She has made multiple great friendships from soccer and is grateful for all the people she met. Lexi is feeling really excited for college but sad to leave all her friends behind. But she is ready to start her life as an adult. She says that part of her is nervous to be so far away from her parents but knows she will get the hang of it fast. We wish Lexi the best of luck this year and in the future.
