Story by Kendall Ali Hanover Central soccer star, Kiara Desiderio, has been making big moves throughout her high school career. From scoring game-winning goals for her team, to becoming a Sectional Champion, she continues to grow in her skills as an elite soccer player. I had an opportunity to interview the senior athlete. Below are some of the questions I asked Kiara. Q: Where and when did your passion for soccer take place? A: My passion for soccer was when I was around 8 years old, and that's when I started playing club soccer. Q: What are your goals for this senior year, academically and athletically? A: This senior year my goal academically is to get better grades than the years before. Athletically, I want to try to reach 200 goals this soccer season. Q: Is there anything you would changed in your soccer career? A: There is nothing I would change in my soccer career, I love how everything is. Q: How have you been able to balance your sports A: The way I balance my sport and school is I usually try to finish my work at school if they give us time, if not I usually do it after practice or a game. Q: Can you recall your best/worst soccer moments? A: The best soccer moment was when we won sectionals. The worst soccer moment was when I broke my collarbone at my soccer game. Q: What are your plans after high school? A: My plan after high school is to continue playing soccer at Valparaiso University. Kiara has always been one to show her good character. Whether it be on the field or in the classroom, she continues to improve. Good luck to her and the entire Hanover Central Girls’ Soccer Team. Also, we wish her well in her soccer-career at Valparaiso University.
