Girls Track Opens Outdoor Season at Munster Invite

The Varsity Girls Track and Field team opened their outdoor season at the Munster Invitational by coming in 4th place behind Lake Central, Valparaiso, and Crown Point. Simone Parker had an incredible day, winning the 300-meter hurdles with a new school record time of 46.47. She also placed 2nd in the long jump with a jump of 17'2", which ties the current school record in that event. She also finished 5th in the 100-meter hurdles. Natalie Forrest finished 2nd in the 400 and 8th in the 200. Malissa Butler finished 3rd in the shot put and 6th in the discus. Elisa Cornejo finished 7th in the 3200 and 8th in the 1600. Althea Zinmer ran to a 4th place finish in the 800. Ali Smith came in 4th in the pole vault. Kaydence Beach jumped to 4th place in the high jump. And the 4x100 meter relay of Kiarra Carver, Natalie Forrest, Ryah Doty, and Isabella Sarkey raced to a 6th place finish as did the 4x400 meter relay of Kiarra Carver, Kayla Carver, Natalie Forrest, and Simone Parker. Our first home meet will be Tuesday, when we take on Munster and Highland.
